Introducing MCP Army: Free Forever, Bring Your Own AI
MCP Army is a free plan for developers who already have an AI. Create and run tests through MCP from Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Grok, with the limits and the Solo Dev upgrade spelled out.
MCP Army is a new Validate.QA plan, and it is free forever. You bring your own AI: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or Grok. Your AI writes the tests through our MCP server, and Validate.QA runs them and keeps the results. There is no card to enter and no trial clock.
The tools that spend our own AI keys are on the plan too, but they are locked. You can see them in the app. Upgrading to Solo Dev turns them on.
What you can do on MCP Army
On this plan your own AI does the thinking. It reads your code, writes standard Playwright tests, and fixes them when they fail. Validate.QA is the place the tests run.
What is locked until you upgrade to Solo Dev
Anything that uses Validate.QA's own AI is shown but locked. Using one returns a clear message that names Solo Dev. Your AI sees it as a normal error, not a crash.
While the launch special runs, an MCP Army workspace can switch to Solo Dev at no charge. After it, Solo Dev is a paid checkout. MCP Army is not part of the launch special, so it never expires.
The limits
These are the limits on MCP Army, so you know what you have before you start.
Older runs past the history window are hidden, not deleted. They come back if you upgrade.
Connect your AI
Sign up for MCP Army, then open Project Settings, MCP in the dashboard. Copy your API URL and project ID, and create a personal access token. It starts with pat_. Runner tokens are not accepted for MCP.
Claude Code
Run this in your terminal:
Cursor
Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in your project:
Codex works the same way with its own MCP config. For the chat apps (Claude Desktop, Grok), use the hosted connector instead. Both setups are in the MCP docs and in connecting Claude, Grok, and Codex .
Then ask your AI to read the project's test conventions, create a feature, write a few tests, and run them. For a longer walkthrough of the tools, see managing your QA suite from an AI coding tool .
Start with MCP Army
Pick MCP Army when you sign up. If you want healing, discovery, and the rest, you can move to Solo Dev later from Plan & Billing. Your projects and tests stay.
